Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Location: Cumming, GA

Job Summary:
 The Purchase and Inventory Manager is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet business demands. This role includes vendor management, cost control, and efficient inventory tracking to support operational goals while minimizing waste and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Purchasing Management:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
    • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and delivery.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with vendors and suppliers.
    • Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and address delays proactively.
  2. Inventory Control:
    • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and sales needs while minimizing carrying costs.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and align purchasing activities accordingly.
    • Implement and manage inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels and turnover.
  3. Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
    • Monitor vendor performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
    • Source alternative suppliers as needed to mitigate supply chain risks.
  4. Cost and Budget Management:
    • Monitor purchasing budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and reduce costs without compromising quality.
    • Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and cost metrics to senior management.
  5. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, invoices, and inventory transactions.
    • Oversee the implementation of safety and storage standards for inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and supply chain best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and forecast inventory needs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to purchasing and inventory management.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional travel to vendor sites or company warehouses.
  • Ability to lift and move materials.
