What are the responsibilities and job description for the BH Link Registered Nurse position at Community Care Alliance?
BH LINK Registered Nurse (Full Time)
East Providence, RI.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Assess and monitor the psychiatric and medical needs of clients referred to the BH Link.
- Provide assessment and crisis intervention to clients experiencing behavioral health issues.
- Administer medication per standing and/or prescriber orders.
- Complete documentation per BH Link protocols.
- Coordinate admissions with referral sources.
- Administer detoxification protocols to include administration of CIWA and COW scales.
- Perform medication reconciliation reviews of medical record (MD order sheets match up with MAR).
- Coordinate service delivery with daytime and on-call psychiatric prescribers.
- Coordinate service delivery with MA clinicians and other BH Link team members.
- Ordering medications from local pharmacies per protocols
- Follow all PPE and COVID-19 safety guidelines.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
- RN required.
- Current license to practice in Rhode Island.
- Experience and interest in working with individuals who have psychiatric and/or substance abuse issues.
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to assess medical and psychiatric needs of all clients admitted to the BH Link.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Prepare and administer medications per MD or standing orders.
- Completing Vital signs, CIWA and COW scales per protocols.
- Complete comprehensive SA, MH and physical safety assessment on all new admissions.
- Providing direct care services as needed.
- Administer detoxification protocols per standing orders.
- Provide for safe transport of BH Link clients to higher levels of care.
