- Provide direct care and support to individuals in a group residential setting
- Assist with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for individuals under your care
- Promote resident rights and advocate for their needs
- Engage in meaningful interactions and activities to enhance socialization and quality of life
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for residents
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
Skills:
- Experience with intellectual disabilities or Autism or related fields is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have physical or cognitive challenges
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if applicable)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to upholding them (will train)
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, social work, or childcare is a plus
