The Speech Pathologist position in the Infant-Toddler Therapies Service works with infants through three-year-olds to develop appropriate outcomes and strategies for children who demonstrate delayed speech development, communication skills and/or delayed oral motor functioning skills and provide family based therapy that implements the outcomes and strategies outlined on the child’s IFSP; teach parents, caregivers, other family members and other Infant Toddler Therapy Services (ITTS) staff strategies which will reinforce the therapy provided and improve overall communication and feeding skills for the children.
Job Description:
- Review initial evaluation and develop appropriate IFSP speech outcomes for children enrolled in the program
- Work with parents to develop a service support plan, so that IFSP outcomes and strategies can be achieved
- Provide direct therapy to the children and their families as per physician’s prescription, IFSP outcomes and the children’s service plans
- Provide parents and caregivers with techniques, activities and strategies, which they can implement to assist their children achieve their IFSP outcomes and strategies
- Provide verbal and necessary written feedback to parents, service supports coordinators, and other ITTS staff working with the children as to the children’s progress in completing their IFSP outcomes and strategies
- Complete quarterly, six month progress, annual evaluations, Ounce/ECO assessments and discharges for the children enrolled in the Infant Toddler Therapy Services. This information will be used for the development of subsequent IFSP’s and service support plans
- Accurately complete a progress note for every service provided to children enrolled in the program, submitting them to the Program Director within 3 days of the date service was provided
- Complete other documentation of session provided as necessary and maintain this documentation according to CCC’s policy on the confidentiality of client information
- Attend Bi-monthly meetings for department
- Promote Early Intervention and our agency through community events
- Participate in ITTS trainings and meetings as required by the County and the State
- Other related duties as required
