The Contract Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students enrolled in the Inspire Education Academy. The Driver will pick up students from their homes in the morning, drop them off at the Academy for classes, and then transport them back home in the afternoon. This position requires a reliable, patient individual with excellent driving skills who is committed to ensuring the safety of students during transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students between their homes and Inspire Education Academy, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs according to the set schedule.
- Maintain good communication with students, parents, and Academy staff to ensure smooth coordination of transport.
- Ensure all passengers are safely seated, and seat belts are properly used during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure a safe driving experience for the students.
- Maintain a working vehicle for transportation or, if driving the company van, report any maintenance issues promptly to the Operations Manager.
- Keep the vehicle clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Maintain valid vehicle insurance or be insurable, as required.
- Report any issues or concerns, such as vehicle maintenance needs or scheduling conflicts, to the Programs Coordinator.
- Licensing: Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
- Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Must pass a DHR Background Check and an employment background check.
- Must have valid vehicle insurance or be insurable.
- Experience driving for a school or youth program is a plus.
- Patience and strong interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with students and managing their needs during transport.
- Good organizational skills to ensure efficient time management and adherence to the transport schedule.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure or in unexpected situations.
- Strong commitment to safety and responsible driving practices.
