Community Care ME seeks an enthusiastic and compassionate Youth Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support services to youth. The ideal candidate will have lived experience with Severe Emotional Disturbance or Severe Mental Illness, be between the ages of 18-26, and hold a valid State of Maine Driver's license.
About the Position
This role involves delivering peer support services according to the Peer Connect curriculum in various settings preferred by the youth. The selected candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of the core competencies established by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Key Job Functions
- Attend Peer Connect training and maintain certification annually.
- Provide peer support services using the Peer Connect curriculum.
- Link youth with resources and facilitate workshops/coordinating educational opportunities.
- Maintain office hours during scheduled drop-in hours.
