GENERAL PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES / POSITION STATEMENT :
The YPSSN Regional Supervisor supervises Peer Support Specialists within the region and provides regional oversight of YPSSN to ensure the delivery of exceptional peer support services and compliance with all contractual requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
1. Attend both the Peer Connect training and Peer Connect Supervisors training to become Maine Peer Connect certified within the timeline set by the program, in addition to annually attending Peer Connect Learning Collaborative components to maintain Maine certification and all additional agency training.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the core competencies established by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
3. Assign referrals by the end of the following business day in which the referral is received. Take initiative to follow-up with Peer Support Specialists on their success in contacting new youth referred.
4. Monitor data entry of Peer Support Specialists in the agency electronic record and in the tracking spreadsheet, following up as necessary to prompt timely data entry to allow for effective monitoring.
5. Provide supervision and support to regional Peer Support Specialists to ensure the delivery of exceptional quality Peer Support Services in accordance with the Peer Connect curriculum.
6. Partner with the Director of Quality Improvement and YPSSN Program Manager to assist in the widespread dissemination of the quarterly Youth Satisfaction Survey.
7. Review Youth Satisfaction Survey results and share a summary of findings with PeerSupport Specialists - acknowledge successes and strategize ways to improve youth satisfaction.
8. Attend all internal and external meetings, including all DHHS collaboration meetings.
9. Monitor Peer Support Specialists' training records in Relias to ensure all required training occurs within established deadlines. Follow-up as necessary to ensure training occurs, and notify the YPSSN Program Manager of any delinquency.
10. Assist in the delivery of one-on-one peer support services, including traveling to various areas across the region to reach youth within the most rural areas.
11. Through case supervision with Peer Support Specialists, provide resource options to assist Peer Support Specialists in linking youth with resources, ensure youth are being supported in all goal areas including educational / vocational goals, and that efforts are being taken to link them to a MV Liaison and / or employment assistance agencies as appropriate.
12. Maintain office hours during times of peer support drop-in hours as scheduled in various office locations across the region.
13. Serve as the lead gathering feedback from current program participants during drop-in hours, workshops, etc. on topic ideas for workshops and educational training.
14. Serve as the lead in creating a quarterly calendar of YPSSN events to include, but not be limited to, a minimum of 10 drop-in hours per month and a variety of workshops -partnering with other YPSSN Supervisors to share resources and connections and blending groups as appropriate (i.e. a statewide educational training on a topic via Zoom).
15. Document all YPSSN activities including, but not limited to, groups, workshops, and educational activities on the tracking tool.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES
The YPSSN Regional Supervisor must be between the ages of 18-26, have lived experience with Severe Emotional Disturbance or Severe Mental Illness, hold a Valid State of Maine Driver's license, and have a registered / insured vehicle. The YPSSN Regional Supervisor must complete all requirements to obtain and maintain appropriate Maine certification in Peer Connect including Peer Connect for Supervisors.
