Minimum Qualifications- Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license
- Assessment and documentation skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized in work performance
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- Comply with Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
- Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements
- Perform Essential Duties as outlined below
Work Environment- Deal with residents, personnel, families, and visitors under varying conditions
Essential Duties- Implement resident care plans in compliance with physician’s orders.
- Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines.
- Assign duties to Nursing Assistants as directed.
- Document in resident’s chart pertinent information.
- Maintain a safe working environment, complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
- Give medications and procedures per MAR
- Attend monthly educational in-service programs in order to meet facility educational requirements.
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Personal Demands- Display professionalism both in appearance and in attitude.
- Deal effectively with staff, residents, families, superiors, and government representatives in a professional manner.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of facility’s operations and physical layout.
- Exhibit initiative and willingness to learn.
