ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR
EXPOSURE CATEGORY III
BASIC PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, coordination and preparation, as necessary, of billing and payroll information; coordination of agency purchasing, equipment/supplies inventory, storage systems and office environments as related to the day-to-day conduct of business. Will provide assistance with accounts payable and other accounting procedures as necessary to accomplish goals of overall assigned fiscal department operations. Provides appropriate supervision and oversight of assigned staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates billing and payroll processes, assisting in preparation when necessary.
2. Resolves billing/payroll discrepancies or other identified issues, recommending any required corrective action to supervisor.
3. Monitors accounts receivable and provides appropriate follow-up to ensure timely payments are received on outstanding balances.
4. Verifies insurance benefits and assures authorizations are received when necessary.
5. Develops and completes assigned fiscal staff evaluations/standards.
6. Assists with accounting procedures and preparation of records for audit.
7. Coordinates inventory control systems.
8. Ensures appropriate and systematic storage of agency records, equipment, and supplies.
9. Assists with facilities management needs as directed.
10. Maintains positive relationships with billing/referral sources, vendors, and community.
11. Coordinates accounts payable tracking and payments.
12. Prepares required reports and assists in completion of required reports by local, state and federal entities.
13. Adheres to and reflects organizational values in daily work.
14. Serves on agency committees as may be assigned.
15. Maintains an obligation to report wrongdoing/violation of agency policies, applicable federal, state, and local laws, and rules and regulations pertaining to agency operations to immediate supervisor or identified compliance officer.
16. Completes all mandatory inservice education programs and completes any other additional inservice hours that are minimally required for the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business, math or similar field, and two years related work experience, at least one year in a health or human services work environment OR an Associate degree and four years related work experience, at least one year in a health or human services work environment;
- Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills;
- Computer literacy required;
- Acceptable driver’s license and automobile available for use with current insurance
- Availability by telephone.
