What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Site Occ Med Paramedic position at Community Care Partners?
Position Summary:
The On Site Occ Med Paramedic is responsible for performing patient triage, standard tests, procedures and patient care within a site clinical setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ability to work independently without direct or on-site supervision following company polices and protocols
Ability to respond to on-site emergency situations and make decisions without supervision
Treat all injuries from minor first aides to significant medical events
Perform drug/alcohol testing following all policies and procedures of the employer/client
Determine need to initiate local emergency medical response to the site
Triage patients and assist in determining medical problems, administer IV’s and medications
Participate in local emergency response coordination
Prepare scene for first responders, communicate emergency response needs to the employer/client
Communicate urgent needs to increase level of patient care
Assist in claims investigation and support return to work program
Determine appropriate referral for injuries not able to be treated on site
Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, and log results
Document patient care and procedures utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records system
Provide reporting and serve as point of contact for client’s questions related to work related injuries, treatments summaries, drug test reporting and other requested information
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
Certificate/License: Current Certification as a Paramedic. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS certification.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred, experience in OSHA occupational health regulations preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eye sight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires an uninhibited driver’s license to accommodate travel to off-site meetings and workgroup sessions.
Fast paced clinical office setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions. All employees are required to comply with federal, state and organizational policies regarding confidentiality. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and occasionally work irregular hours.
