Community Child Care Solutions seeks a bilingual (Spanish/English) Quality Improvement Specialist to plan, develop, coordinate and implement NJ?s Quality Improvement System (QIS), Grow NJ Kids (GNJK). The Quality Improvement Specialist has overall responsibility for the supervision, implementation and coordination of the Grow NJ Kids continuous improvement cycle along with the monthly coordination and implementation of ECE trainings for child care center directors, staff, family child care providers, parents and the community. This job requires leadership skills, good organizational skills, an ability to work with staff and a variety of clients in a non-judgmental manner, good computer skills and the ability to set and direct goals and implement program development. Knowledge or experience in any of the above programs is needed. Must be active in the NJ Workforce Registry, attend Department of Human Services (DHS)/Division of Family Development (DFD) and Department of Education?Division of Early Childhood Education (DOE/DECE) and Department of Children and Families /Office of Licensing sponsored trainings and meetings, utilize the NJ Workforce Registry training registration system, participate in GROW NJ Kids Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) team meetings, and participate in meetings with the GROW NJ Kids Administrator.
Duties
Provide staff in early care and education programs (center based and family child care) with targeted technical assistance and coaching as part of the Grow NJ Kids continuous improvement cycle.
Position includes but is not limited to providing coaching, professional development presentations/ training, onsite consultation and technical assistance, and comprehensive services, including resource identification and community outreach and education to aid and enhance the development of child care programs, licensed centers and registered family child care serving children, birth to 5 years of age. This includes collecting critical data to support child care program assessment and development of new programs as outlined by DFD.
The position involves some travel to county programs, as well as occasional evenings and weekends. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
Requirements
QIS Qualifications ?
- Minimum Bachelor?s Degree in Education or related field required (i.e. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or any other field related to child growth and development); Master?s Degree preferred.
- Five years of experience working directly with early child care programs, preferably with both infants/toddlers and preschool
- Must be registered with NJ Workforce Registry and become an approved Trainer through the Registry Instructor Approval System
- Preferred knowledge of and experience with administering structured classroom observation tools [Environmental Rating Scales (ECERS-3; ITERS-3; FCCERS-3)], NJ preschool teaching and learning standards, NJ State Standards (NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards; NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards)
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles with at least 3 years of experience in providing professional development, mentoring and coaching practices with program administrators and teachers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, data systems, blackboard systems, virtual platforms and other relevant technology
- Strong understanding of NJ Child Care Licensing Regulations, Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), NAEYC standards, and Reflective Supervision practices.
- A valid driver?s license is required, along with an acceptable driving history.
