Our organization is growing and we are seeking an I.T. Security / Data Specialist to add to our team.
This position reports to the Clinical/I.T. Director and is hybrid based with up to 50% of the work being in our Wenatchee office or other local areas for meetings or trainings.
Job Summary
The IT Security and Data Specialist is responsible for leading IT security, compliance, and managing agency data. This role safeguards digital assets, ensures compliance with HIPAA/42-CFR and other regulations, and is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data and creation of reports. This role ensures that agency data is managed according to standards and regulations and is responsible for IT security training in collaboration with other IT team members.
Primary Duties
General:
- Serve as liaison with vendors, partners, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including calendars, timesheets, workflows and processes.
- Represent the organization professionally and foster positive relationships.
- Provide training and support to individuals or groups as necessary.
- Manage timelines, prioritize tasks, manage projects, and communicate potential barriers.
- Ensure system changes are communicated to all stakeholders.
- Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.
IT Security Specialist:
- Monitor IT platforms and infrastructure for security risks and breaches.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments.
- Assist with design/implementation of security measures to protect systems and data.
- Coordinate IT security assessments and improvement processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Collaboratively develop and maintain security standards and best practices.
- Provide support and training on security protocols and procedures.
- Assist in investigating security violations and prepare reports.
Data Management:
- Coordinate management of data creation, maintenance, and storage, ensuring accuracy and data security.
- Analyze data to identify trends and insights for improving efficiencies and outcomes.
- Create detailed reports, dashboards, and visual representations for decision-making.
- Ensure data quality and compliance with regulations and standards.
- Optimize data collection and manage data cleanup, mapping, and migration.
- Provide support and training on data entry, security, and reporting.
- Collaborate with service line managers and partners to meet data needs.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA, 42-CFR, and data security standards.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret and report complex data.
- Experience with EHR or electronic record-keeping platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership, organizational, project, and management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop and present educational materials.
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft 365, and Google Suites.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in IT security and data management preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in data and report management or similar roles.
- Certification or formal training in HIPAA/42-CFR required.
- Experience managing vendors, partners, and end users.
Environmental Factors:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Adequate speech, visual, and hearing abilities to effectively interact with staff and customers.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
