Position Summary
The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for leading Quality Assurance teams who are committed to on-time delivery of reliable, high-quality software releases that meet or exceed expectations. The successful candidate will show experience fostering high-performing teams and close collaboration on influence with development, UAT, IT, and product teams to establish robust testing practices, drive automation, and champion quality across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies and practices in alignment with peers for CCFI’s internally developed systems (loan management, customer servicing, and online web portals) and third-party integrations (loan management systems, underwriting APIs, and payment processor APIs)
- Lead, mentor, and manage performance of QA and Automation Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
- Oversee the design, development, and operationalization of automated testing frameworks, CI/CD and tools to ensure continuous growth in testing capabilities and reliable testing processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, UAT, product managers, IT, and DevOps, to integrate QA processes into our Scrum and Kanban SDLC
- Ensure software releases are on-time, thoroughly tested, and meet or exceed quality standards before deployment to private AWS and Azure cloud environments
- Define, monitor and evangelize key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA team, ensuring continuous improvement and dashboard visibility to quality and delivery timelines
- Act as a hands-on leader, participating in test planning, execution, and troubleshooting as needed to support the team and resolve complex issues
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in QA, automation, and financial services technology to drive innovation within the team
- Manage resource allocation, hiring, and professional development to build a high-performing and scalable QA organization
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on QA progress, risks, and quality metrics
- Understand applicable company policies, procedures and other job-specific instructive documents and materials
- Conduct business, perform job duties, and provide oversight in a manner consistent with the requirements set forth in all company policies, procedures and other directives, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Complete all compliance training assigned to them to understand the key provisions of law, regulation and internal policies and procedures applicable to their job duties, as well as the impact of non-compliance on the company’s reputation and success
- Raise concerns about any practice(s) believed to be a violation of, or inconsistent with, company policies, procedures or other directives, or in violation of legal or regulatory requirements
- Monitor processes and procedures to ensure safety and compliance
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years of enterprise work experience with software test and automation with at least 2 years over this time in a senior or leadership or manager role
- 2 years leading high performing QA teams responsible testing and deployment of cloud hosted Web, Mobile, Desktop, OLTP, services/API, and Database/Data Wearhouse and managing related deliverables
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing QA and Automation teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Familiarity with financial services software, including loan management systems, payment processing, and underwriting APIs.
- Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, .NET or JavaScript) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLabs).
- Selenium, AccelQ, Perfecto, Appium, Postman, or Azure Test Plans
- Deep understanding of Scrum and Kanban methodologies and how QA integrates into the SDLC.
- Experience in defining, creating and using test reporting results, metrics and dashboards to facilitate organizational improvement
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
- Confident self-starter that can embrace business objectives and team goals while taking quality assurance projects to completion
