Position: Kindergarten Teacher
Position: Full-time Kindergarten teacher
Regular duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing engaging and challenging instruction with a focus on reading, including phonics, math, and writing
- Using a variety of instructional strategies for students with different learning styles and needs
- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs, levels, and abilities of all students in the classroom, including individualized and small-group instruction.
- Creating and posting lesson plans that align with state standards on a consistent basis
- Implementing and maintaining excellent classroom management practices
- Ability to organize a classroom, including centers, small groups, and other classroom activities
- Using technology to plan lessons, set up and use electronic grade books, post homework electronically, and incorporate technology into classroom instruction, including Google Classroom
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date grade book, providing students and parents with real-timefeedback on learning
- Assessing student learning through a variety of methods, including formative and summative assessments
- Ability to work with a team to plan and coordinate instructional activities, lessons, field trips, chapel programs, and other activities.
- Communicating with parents to inform them of student progress, including written, phone, and face-to-face conferencing as needed
- Participating in meaningful professional development opportunities as coordinated by the CCS Administrative Team
- Attending, supporting, or sponsoring extracurricular activities as assigned
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Team
Physical requirements include:
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability and energy to actively supervise and keep up with five-year-olds
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Ability to clearly communicate with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to travel to and from the workplace
Required qualifications include:
- Belief in Jesus Christ and status as saved Christian in accordance with the Christian faith and the mission of CCS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in field
- Ability to effectively communicate (written, oral) in standard English
Preferred qualifications include:
- State certification in Elementary Education
- Previous teaching experience in Elementary
