What are the responsibilities and job description for the OB/GYN Provider position at COMMUNITY CLINIC OF MAUI, INC?

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides medical care to patients and referral to appropriate provider specialists and/or agencies. Serves as a consultant in field of specialty to clinic staff.
REPORTS TO: Department Head-OB/Gyn
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
· Renders medical care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment and referral to appropriate physicians or agencies.
· Delivers medical care in-person and via telehealth and may deliver medical care in CCM’s Street Medicine Program. OB/Gyn providers must credential and privilege at Maui Memorial Medical Center (MMMC) and be scheduled for hospital call on a rotational basis among the OBGyn provider team members.
· Documents medical care and maintains accurate and thorough medical records according to established policies and procedures for the clinic.
· Completes and signs medical forms for patient care and insurance purposes.
· Investigates and intervenes into potential and actual problem situations regarding patient care.
· Communicates and collaborates patient care with patient/family, and other health care team professionals.
· Executes emergency procedures i.e. CPR.
· Maintains a safe environment (equipment, condition of physical plant, universal precautions, biohazard disposal.
· Establishes and annually reviews medical policies, procedures and protocols of the clinic.
· Performs staff in-service and training relevant to current needs of the clinic, and participates in the orientation, training and development of clinic personnel, including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical students and others as needed.
· Establishes and implements a medical quality assurance program which includes all activities of monitoring and evaluation to assure and improve the quality of care services provided.
· Participates with peer reviews.
· Maintains effective work relationships with clinic personnel, patients, and the public.
· Adheres to the Community Clinic of Maui's policies and procedures.
· Is familiar with all funding source guidelines and requirements, which relate to the position of Medical Provider (MD or DO).
OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
· Attends and participates in meetings and committees as requested.
· Participates in peer reviews.
· Shares call coverage as scheduled.
· Prepares and submits reports for Quality Improvement, incidents, funding, and grant proposals as requested by Department Head, CMO, or CEO.
· Participates in research activities as required.
· Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
· Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
· Successfully completed residency training.
· Current MD or DO license or license eligible to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
· Evidence of continuing medical education (CME).
· Board Certified or Board Eligible.
Skills/Competencies:
· Advanced interpersonal skills to promote and participate in team based-care, patient centered medical home (PCMH) model, and trauma-informed care.
· Competency in cultural awareness of the populations we serve and works from a frame of cultural humility.
· Proficient with CCM’s EMR and timely chart closing within 48 hours of visit.
· Adaptive to the opportunities and challenges of living and working on an island.
· Collaborate and be an effective team member.
· Ability to multi-task, manage competing demands well, and complete clinical charts and documentation in a timely manner.
· Maintain ethical and professional standards.
· Ability to effectively represent CCM in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private and professional groups.
· Adheres to executed employment agreement.
Certifications:
· Current CME requirements for licensure.
· Current DEA and NED.
· Current CPR.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Access to an insured vehicle.
· TB clearance within previous 12 months.
· Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or approved reasonable accommodation for medical or religious exemption.
