Job Summary
Community Clinic is seeking a Billing Manager to lead the team of medical billers responsible for claim submission, resolving claim denials, collections, and financial customer service. This role will be expected to report on and analyze data regarding collections and lead process improvements to manage the revenue cycle on a daily and monthly basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of claims processing experience and at least 2 years managing within the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct supervision of the Patient Financial Services Specialists assigned to their team, ensuring daily operations are meeting goals for productivity, cash collections, data collection, compliance, and customer service.
- Provides direct supervision of Proof of Income Specialists assigned to their team, ensuring accounts are assessed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for problem identification and resolutions with claims, rejections and denials, customer service, and data collection for all processes affecting accounts receivable throughout organization.
- Directly responsible for daily and monthly revenue cycle management, ensuring that claims submission, rejection, and filing processes are accurately documented, that staff are trained in appropriate procedures, and that goals are set clearly and expectations met to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Reports on, audits, and analyzes key operational statistics related to accounts receivable by age, site, department, and financial class.
- Prepares for and oversees audits
- Maintains patient fee schedules
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least five years of experience in claims processing, including at least two years as a supervisor with revenue cycle management and reporting responsibilities preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of practice management systems, medical terminology, CPT, HCPCs, and ICD-10 coding.
- Thorough understanding of the regulations and standards within the medical, dental and insurance industries.
