Job Summary
Community Clinic is seeking to hire a Lab Tech for our clinic in Springdale, Arkansas. Applicants must have some Lab, Medical Assistant, or Phlebotomy experience. Prefer candidates who are bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Marshallese). This is a full-time, M-F position.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for collection of all blood, urine and throat swab specimens with assistance of licensed staff as needed.
- Collects all specimens according to CLIA, OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as indicated.
- Performs waived lab tests ordered by provider per clinic procedures or manufacturers’ instructions.
- Assists with performing/managing applicable testing quality control and instrument maintenance.
- Maintains supplies and equipment necessary for obtaining and processing laboratory specimens.
- Maintains sterile instruments using proper sterilization techniques and procedures.
- Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required. Medical Assistant or other appropriate certification preferred.
- Formal or informal training preferred in performance of waived laboratory tests or phlebotomy
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Marshallese) preferred.
