General Summary : Responsible for writing grants and assisting in the development of grant proposals for submission to local, state, federal and other appropriate agencies to secure funding for the college.
Requirements :
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, sociology, psychology, communications, business administration, or related field and a minimum of three years of grant writing experiences as a grant writer for federal, state and local government, foundation and corporate sources of funding with demonstrable success OR associates degree in education, sociology, psychology, communications, business administration, or related field and a minimum of five years of grant writing experiences as a grant writer for federal, state and local government, foundation and corporate sources of funding with demonstrable success. Prior work experience in higher education setting is preferred. Experience with budget development and management is preferred.
Exceptional writing, analytical and research skills are required as well as the ability to handle multiple high priority activities simultaneously, managing time and organizing tasks with great attention to details. Must have the ability to interface, effectively, with faculty, staff, administration, and sponsoring agencies to support grant / proposal development, writing, and submission.
Duties :
1. Write a significant number of targeted grant proposals for the college.
2. Conduct prospect research of sources of external funding opportunities from public (federal, state and county governments) and private (corporate and foundation) entities.
3. Meet regularly with CCAC faculty and department leaders to increase interest and involvement in grant writing.
4. Maintain a revolving library of funding opportunities and grant development sites to share with the CCAC academic community.
5. Develop periodic newsletters to share funding opportunities and grant related topics for appropriate distribution to faculty staff, and administrators.
6. Assist college stakeholders (staff, faculty and administrators) with the comprehensive process involved in responding to request for proposal and developing applications for funding.
7. Plan and provide professional development opportunities for stakeholders in the area of grant / proposal writing and pre-award activities.
8. Create applicable outlines for participating faculty, staff, and department leaders that will allow meaningful contributions to the development of new proposals / applications.
9. Assist in editing grant applications for structure, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and appropriateness of content, as well as grammar and readability.
10. Assist in the grant submission process including interpretation of guidelines to facilitate successful completion and compliance.
11. Maintain a current grant matrix to include all submitted applications, awarded or rejected.
12. Maintain current knowledge of and expertise in federal, state, local and other agency regulations and policies to assure compliance.
13. Prepare required paperwork for sub-award status, compliant with the Federal Funding Accountability Act (FFATA) of 2006.
14. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Clearances : Current criminal record / child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
