Salary : Criteria within the collective bargaining agreement determine theposition rank of non-teaching faculty (Educational Technicians). Based on theestablished rank, the salary range is between $28,732 - $31,672 for 10-monthnon-teaching (Educational Technicians) positions and $34,479 - $38,007 for 12-month non-teaching (Educational Technicians) positions. Ranking isdetermined by educational level and specific relevant experience.
General Summary : Prepareand set up studios, labs, classrooms and performance spaces for the musicprogram. Support faculty and students in the Music Department.
Requirements :
Associate degree or itsequivalent, and a minimum of one year experience in music-related position.
Physical Requirements : May require physical exertion to move, lift, or carry heavy boxes or other heavy materials including stage scenery and ceramics materials weighing up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance); may be required to climb ladders up to 25 feet and work in high places in the theater; may be required to work with hand and power tools, and rig and pull rope for stage productions; may be required to stand for long periods of time; may be exposed to hazardous waste materials.
Duties : 1.Design and implement inventory control systems of musical instruments, equipment, hardware, software and sheet music.
2.At the direction music faculty, prepare musical instruments and equipment for studio, lab, classroom and performance use.
3.Assist departmental faculty in the preparation of specialized instructional materials.
4.Devise and maintain open lab hours for music students in conjunction with faculty.
5.Maintain proper levels of appropriate supplies and materials required to teach classes within these facilities.
6.Monitor the department's supply budget.
7.Oversee the maintenance of the department's musical instruments, and coordinate repairs as needed.
8.Oversee the maintenance of the department's music technology hardware and software, and coordinate with the ITS Department as needed.
9.Supervise student-based assistance when needed.
10.Orient adjunct faculty to the various music instructional areas.
11.Develop and maintain an audio-visual archive of Music Department performances.
12.Assist with Music Department productions, including : setting up performance spaces, providing live sound reinforcement, recording performances for the Music Department audio-visual archive, creating programs for performances and promoting Music Department events.
13.Monitor the music class schedule; order and / or prepare materials needed in a timely manner.
14.Assist the department head, when requested, in matters involving course scheduling and the determination of appropriate instructional areas.
15.Assist with instructional support of music technology labs.
16.Perform other related duties as appropriate to support instruction and related activities in the department.
