What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Support Services position at Community College of Baltimore County?
The purpose of this position is to perform professional level student/client support, advisement, and coaching involving administrative duties in coordination with Job Network’s leadership team.
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Liberal Arts, Human Services, or related field and Master's degree preferred. Two (2) years of experience in Human Services working with hard-to-serve adults (i.e. case management, employment services, and/or entitlement programs) required.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
Implement department programs or initiatives.
Monitor compliance with department policies and procedures.
Maintains department records and files, as required.
Conduct and attend meetings, as required.
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external organizations.
Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate the college’s student support and academic/career advising and services component within Job Network.
Schedule external support service classroom visits addressing issues such as criminal records and expungement, domestic violence, substance abuse, etc.
Counsel students and advise to demonstrate professional behaviors and remove barriers to successful employment.
Connect students to appropriate college and community resources and provide follow up to ensure access to services.
Conduct in-depth intake and assessments to create meaningful personal employment plans with each student.
Organize and coordinate self-sufficiency team meetings for students who have not successfully obtained and retained employment within a reasonable timeframe.
Focus on job preparedness and career guidance in industry sectors with assigned placement performance metrics (i.e. WIOA eligible programs).
Provide intensive case management services to Job Network students and effectively collaborate with Department of Social Services.
Develop and maintain partnerships with all relevant stakeholders and community advocates.
Assist students with transitional services (i.e. housing, transportation, childcare, etc.) as required.
Maintain detailed documentation of student progress in relevant databases and file management systems.
