What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Transition Programs position at Community College of Baltimore County?
The purpose of this class is to perform standard administrative duties in coordinating the daily operations of assigned College division or function.
Bachelor’s degree required, in English, Communications, Psychology, or related field preferred. Three (3) years of experience in higher education coordinating programs or services for students required, preferably in a community college setting. Experience helping new students transition into a college setting and academic advising experience preferred.
- Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
- Monitor compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Maintain department records and files, as required.
- Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
- Represent the College and/or department at events, as required.
- Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.
- Manage program’s daily operations, programs, and publicity; staffing needs; conflict resolution and policy enforcement in consultation with the College’s multiple University Partners.
- Understand and communicate program mechanics including placement testing, financial aid, scheduling, general education and transfer requirements, and other Transition Program policy-specific information.
- Coordinate and conduct placement testing and advising for Transition Program students.
- Enroll and register Transition Program students based on placement test results.
- Plan and conduct faculty orientations and student orientations
- Track student balances using Argos reports.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with faculty, staff and professional colleagues to design and implement academic support programs to meet student needs.
- Evaluate the program through data collection, analysis, and reports.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with Transfer and Degree Acceleration efforts.
Salary : $56,518 - $93,417
