What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Curriculum Innovation position at Community College of Baltimore County?
Collaborates with the Assistant Dean, Curriculum and Assessment, academic school leadership, and faculty discipline convenors to design and update new and existing curriculum. Undertakes research into emerging career and workforce opportunities for innovative academic program expansion and improvement. Facilitates program development with faculty convenors to build stackable credentials, competency-based education, and articulated credit. Assists with programmatic and curricula documentation and tracking connected to accreditation processes. Assists in administering academic program review and supports the Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment in required reporting to the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience in curriculum management in post-secondary education required, preferably in a Community College. Experience with competency-based education, articulated credit and dual-enrollment is preferred. Teaching experience preferred.For best consideration, please apply by April, 23, 2025.
- Collaborate with faculty convenors and academic leaders on strategic initiatives connected to curriculum design and development.
- Research and communicate innovations in higher education curriculum design.
- Prepare, analyze and provide reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Articulate matters of curriculum in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the College with students, parents and professional organizations.
- Coordinate and track curricula innovations including stackable credentials, competency-based education, micro-credentialing, and articulated credit.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on implementing improvements to alternative credit pathways, including competency-based education, articulated credit, dual enrollment and prior learning assessment.
- Collaborate with the Registrar’s office to ensure accuracy, timeliness and consistency of all information related to competency-based education.
- Respond to faculty convenor inquiries regarding curriculum changes; facilitate processes connected to curriculum modification and management.
- Research opportunities for curricular innovation.
- Collect and analyze data on regional workforce needs, and opportunities for academic program expansion and improvement.
- Evaluate and facilitate curriculum optimization to maximize workforce value and student completion.
- Work closely with the Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment on compliance and reporting to external agencies, including the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) and Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
- Work closely with the Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment on academic program review.
Salary : $85,798 - $141,811
