What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Faculty- 10 month position at Community College of Baltimore County?
The Community College of Baltimore County is seeking applications for a full-time English faculty position. The primary focus of the position is teaching college-level English composition. Full-time faculty are expected to prepare and teach 15 credit hours per semester and to work with the learning support staff, maintain at least one office hour per week for each course taught, continue professional development, and participate in college-wide professional activities. Community college teaching experience; experience teaching non-traditional, diverse populations; as well as online teaching and course development experience are preferred. CCBC is committed to equal opportunity and seeks faculty who have some training in cultural competency and pedagogy, and demonstrate the ability to function effectively within a diverse population. Master’s degree in English, Comp/Rhetoric, Literature, Writing, or related field. Evidence of working effectively with students, colleagues and learning support staff. Two (2) years of full time teaching experience. Prior community college teaching experience, online teaching experience, and curriculum development preferred.
