What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortuary Science Faculty 12-month position at Community College of Baltimore County?
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Current licensure as a Mortician in the State of Maryland or a Morticians license from another state with the eligibility to work as a Mortician in the state of Maryland; Master’s degree in related field; teaching experience preferred; and 2 years of recent work experience as a mortician is required.

- Provide didactic and laboratory instruction in the mortuary science program.
- Coordinate adjunct faculty also assigned to courses.
- Maintain current knowledge in trends and practices within mortuary science and higher education.
- Forge relationships with area mortuary science businesses to assure we are educating students to meet the needs of area employers.
- Participate in program and college committees.

- Assure assigned lectures are current and contain active teaching techniques.
- Serves as advisor to Mortuary Science students as assigned.
- Provides individual consultations with students and promotes student completion and ability to meet program outcomes.
- Participates in the review of courses and curriculum.
- Perfects teaching skills by using supervisor, peer and student feedback.
- Participates in School of Health Professions activities such as School Orientation and Interdisciplinary activities.
