Payroll and Benefits Apprentice (Part-time)

The Payroll and Benefits Apprentice (PBA) reports to the Senior Director of People, Culture, and Compliance and is responsible for performing necessary assistance to support the processing of all People, Culture, and Compliance (PCC) activities, including both payroll and benefit management. Provides support for the accurate and complete running of bi-weekly payrolls. Works to assist in assuring all items submitted to the department for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) are accurate and inputted. The review of data submitted for the HRIS includes but is not limited to items such as: direct deposit forms, W-4 forms, change of address forms, pay increases, new hires, benefits, recruiting, and performance management. The PBA assists in planning, directing, and coordinating all functions of PCC management including payroll, HRIS, benefits, health and wellness as an integral part of succession planning. This is a highly confidential position and is held to a high standard of integrity, confidentiality, and customer service.

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or Organizational Development required.
• A minimum of two years’ related experience in human resources, payroll, or a related field.
• Experience with automated clearinghouse (ACH) transactions required.
• At least two years of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge and skills related to principles and practices of payroll, payroll laws and regulations, and college procedures and regulations.
• Knowledge and skills related to Human Resources Information Systems.
• Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of human resources information.

Pay: $40,482.39 per year
