Position Description:
Looking for a dedicated and self-motivated individual to assist in the upkeep and repair of multiple residential homes providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for:
* Implementing and completing assignments related to all aspects of building maintenance, including: heating, cooling, plumbing, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing, fire and disaster equipment, home alarm/safety systems, and communication systems.
* Schedule maintenance on a repair, preventative, replacement and new installments based on need.
* Be knowledgeable of all contractors and resources used in all areas of maintenance and make contacts as needed.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of the preventative maintenance system and actual repairs and maintenance completed and submit for approval and record keeping requirements.
* Coordinate maintenance work with other departments and/or facilities so as not to interrupt Individual's care or normal routines.
* Inspect equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning and safety on a routine basis.
* Inspect grounds and buildings to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
* Teach personnel in areas of accident prevention, fire safety, disaster preparedness and evacuation procedures as requested or assigned.
* Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in all areas of facilities in accord with universal precautions.
* Assist in the maintenance of all facility vehicles to ensure they are operable and in safe working condition through routine inspections.
* Ensure all staff are aware of, and compliant with, the care of vehicles, building and equipment and enforce the compliance of the same.
* Use tact, respect and kindness in dealing with all Individuals, family, visitors and staff in all areas of the company.
Qualifications and Skills
What We're Looking For:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Prior maintenance experience preferred, but not required
- HVAC experience preferred, but not required
- Must have a HS diploma/GED
- Must have less than 6 points on current driving record
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be personable and able to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Must be able to cope with stressful situations in a professional manner.
- Must have a genuine interest in working with people who have developmental disabilities.
- Must be willing to assist Individuals with daily activities and living skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
