Job Overview
The parent Resource Navigator plays a crucial role in supporting families and children in navigating complex court systems related to child welfare. The PRN will help parents who are in danger of losing or have lost their children to Child Protective Services understand court orders and connect the parents to resources available to them (I.e. parenting classes, life skills classes, finding employment, etc..) This position involves working closely with families to provide guidance, resources, and advocacy to ensure the well-being of children. The Navigator will engage with various stakeholders, including social workers, educators, and healthcare providers, to facilitate access to necessary services and support. The Parent Resource Navigator will accompany the parents to court and MDT meetings as an advocate.
Duties
- Assist families in understanding and accessing child welfare services and resources.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict management support to families facing challenging situations.
- Collaborate with social work professionals to develop individualized plans for children and families.
- Facilitate communication between families and service providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct assessments to identify family needs and appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, services provided, and outcomes achieved.
- Stay informed about local resources, programs, and policies related to family law and childcare.
Skills
