About us
Pioneer Programs,Community Connection Program (CCP) is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 program that offers specially trained social communication and behavioral support for teens and young adults with significant communication and behavioral challenges, such as autism spectrum disorder. The CCP program is designed to teach community integration skills, seek out community resources, and provide inclusive social, recreational, cultural, educational, and volunteer/vocational training opportunities for individuals that benefit from more specially trained, 1:1, 2:3, or 1:2 staff to participant ratioed support to safely and meaningfully engage with their community. Safe and meaningful opportunities for learning community independence and inclusion skills is our focus.

Our main office is located in Ocean Beach, but we are community-bound the entire day.
We are seeking reliable, energetic, and flexible individuals to directly support our program participants in becoming included members of their communities. The primary responsibilities of the Community Coach are to work our program participants on building and generalizing skills and identifying and nurturing competencies in a variety of community-based settings. You will support the program participants' development of socially appropriate adaptive behaviors, functional communication strategies, community safety, and skill generalization across multiple community environments, with the goal to foster a more independent lifestyle of their choice.
Schedule #1 :
- Tuedays-Fridays: 8:30 AM -2:00 PM
- Wednesdays & Thursdays: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM OR 1:30/2 PM - 6:00 PM (two available shifts)
- Three Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 12 PM -4:30 PM; Shifts soon becoming available from 9:30 AM - 4 PM
Schedule #2 :
- Wednesdays & Thursdays: 1:30/2 PM - 6:00 PM
- Second & Fourth Fridays: 4 PM - 8 PM
- Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 12 PM -4:30 PM; Shifts soon becoming available from 9:30 AM - 4 PM

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Community Coach: Bachelors degree and/or at least 12 units higher education in the field is preferred.
- At least one year of experience with developmental disabilities, in particular, individuals with significant communication and behavioral challenges such as autism spectrum disorder is necessary.
- See above for availablity.
- Availability for team trainings and meetings outside of regular hours every 4-8 weeks.
- A minimum of a 1-year commitment from applicants due to the nature of the program and the extensive amount of training, experience and team building we provide is preferred.
- Experience recording and synthesizing data is preferred but not required.
- The qualities that encompass that of creativity, innovation, flexibility, and motivation to work with amazing individuals in a unique team environment.
- Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate to program participants, parents/caregivers, community members, other providers or individuals on the program participant's transition team, and other staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Community Coach must be able to successfully perform certain essential functions of this very physical job. This includes the ability to run, walk, stand, bend, twist, push, pull, reach above and below the shoulder, have the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, work outside, and have the energy needed with the ability to balance multiple tasks in a noisy, stimulating environment.
COMPENSATION:
Community Coach (Bachelor's degree in the Field): $18.00 to $21.50 p/hr. post-training depending on experience and education. Experience and credentials/education in the field will dictate rate of compensation. New hire training typically lasts 1-3 months depending.
MORE DETAILS: The position posted above has potential room for growth into a full time position within six months. Company and opportunities are rapidly growing!
- Must complete trainings as specified by management that include: California State recognized crisis intervention /safety care traububg, online specified autism/ABA trainings, organizational training, CPR/First Aid training, driver training (for some), and extensive individual fieldwork training are necessary and will be part of training.
- A clean DMV record and willingness to drive a passenger van is preferred but not required. Definitely preferred. We will train you on the 12 passenger van,
- A "clear" TB test and a fingerprint/ background check completed upon hire.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 28 per week
