Support the child care community on DFD?s programs and special family engagement initiatives. Attend specialized training aligned with DFD?s goals.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact to coordinate Books, Balls, and Block developmental screening events and connect families to resources available through the CCR&R and the county
Duties
� Conduct community needs assessment/community scan
� Identify community resources/county directory
� Recruit and implement Positive Solution for Families (priority given to programs that receive special needs rate)
� Coordinate and support Books, Balls, and Blocks events and Parent Cafes (using the Positive Solution for Families Model)
� Participate in committee/focus group/workgroup to help DFD plan training to support FCC and Center Based Providers
� Participate in Union County Council for Young Children
� Facilitate connections with County Central Intake
� Understand all aspects of CCRR (subsidy & quality)
� Attend training on Developmental Screening, Pyramid Model, and other identified topics by DFD to support role
� Understand connections between PLP, OOL, and other County supports for families
� Support other DCF initiatives as identified by DFD
� Host Quarterly Parent Cafes
� Coordinate Books Balls and Blocks events throughout the county
� Work with DFD Quality Partners in coordination with Quality Manager
� Participate in committee/focus group/workgroup to help DFD plan training to support FCC and Center Based Providers
� Maintain records of all trainings/outreach conducted
� Submit reports and/or data, level of service as required and/or requested by DFD
� Represent the agency, providing outreach and education by presenting and attending (virtually/ socially distanced) community meetings as assigned
� Notify DCF, Institutional Abuse Unit, whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that a child has been subjected to abuse and/or neglect, following CCCC complaint policy reporting procedure
� Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor?s degree preferred in social work, early childhood education, psychology or other related field;
Experience parent/family support, early childhood services, community events and engagement; Strong
interpersonal skills and ability to establish and develop trusting relationships; Experience collecting,
organizing, recording and processing information; Working knowledge of child development and
developmentally appropriate practice; Knowledge of child protective factors; Knowledge of developmental
screening, Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), a plus
