Position Overview
The Assist Leasing and Occupancy Specialists provides support to the Leasing and Occupancy team and receptionist. Assistant Leasing and Occupancy Specialist must provide excellent customer service to applicants, residents and staff members.
Compensation And Benefits
The compensation rate is $24.00 an hour. The Assist Leasing and Occupancy Specialist is eligible for the following benefits:
Must be detail oriented, energetic self-starter, have excellent grasp of all basic math skills, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, excellent written and oral communication, knowledge of fair housing rules and regulations, ability to monitor work flow, ability to be extremely organized with paperwork, and initiative to keep professional knowledge up to date as the requirements for recertification change.
Education And Experience
Preferably, experience with affordable housing recertification processes, TCAC certified and experience with programs requiring third party verifications. Proficient in Microsoft Word; Knowledge of Access or YARDI a plus, but not necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibility.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to sit and use office equipment and computers for the majority of the workday. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The essential responsibilities of this position are performed in a busy office environment. This position must be able to keep focused in an environment with many interruptions and distractions.
Travel Requirements
Occasional car travel, including to visit properties under operation or development by Community Corp.

- Assist Leasing and Occupancy Specialists in leasing units to applicants.
- Assist Leasing and Occupancy Specialists in recertifying residents.
- Assist with applicant and resident file organization and maintenance.
- Prepare and submit third party verification correspondence.
- Assist with Marketing List processes as directed.
- Relieve and oversee the front desk duties; answering phones, processing rent, distribute mail, order supplies, order and organize supplies and other duties as assigned to the receptionist.
- Contribute to team efforts and provide excellent customer service.
- Greet and assist people at the front window and on the phone.
- Assist Leasing and Occupancy Specialists in scanning documents.
- Scan Resident Files in Laserfiche for all Partnerships Properties.
- Scan an electronic copy of the file for all current TCAC property.
- Other tasks as assigned.
