The Senior Financial Analyst will be tasked with the responsibility of the monthly full-cycle Accounting process. Primary responsibility and focus will be on fund accounting and compliance with all 2 CFR 200, OMB universal federal guidance, Federal Cost Principles for the Community Council programs. The incumbent will also have an advanced knowledge and hands-on experience of both Accrual and Cash basis Accounting with an additional oversight provided from both the CFO of the agency.

Primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assist CFO in annual agency audits i.e., 990, SEFA, SOFE reports and in any programmatic audits.
- Coordinates with the CFO on day-to-day work of the accounting department (including, but not limited to, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.)
- Prepare in Month ends reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts to their respective GL accounts on monthly basis to enable Grants team to seek reimbursements on a timely basis.
- Prepare preliminary monthly Statement of Revenue and Expense reports for each fund and analyze budget variances for CFO.
- Prepare Statements of revenue and expense, including variance analysis, and submit to CFO.
- Run payroll reports from payroll system and review for accuracy.
- Approve payroll pre-check register and submit to CFO.
- Review payroll journal entries created by payroll system.
- Upload Payroll entries into Accounting System, prepare payroll bank account transfer requests from restricted to unrestricted funds.
- Revenue recognition
- AR and AP follow ups.
- Participate in the development of annual Finance Department goals in alignment with agency and Finance Department strategic goals.
- Participate in weekly Finance Staff meeting and in the development of weekly goals.
- Prepare weekly status sheet on completion of weekly goals, on-going projects, and accomplishments.
- Contribute to the development of Finance service improvements to all agency employees, funders, subcontractors, and subrecipients.
- Develop cooperative cross-departmental relationships.
- Participate in planning for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team, as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis or opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinates with CFO on the preparation of program budgets and the annual budget for the Agency.
- Participate in monthly reporting and forecasting for presentation the Finance Committee.
- Enable the implementation of business process improvements.
- Evaluate strategic and operational considerations for the agency.
- Monitor KPIs and benchmarks for overall agency performance.
- Prepare materials for staff training and capacity building.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position based on 40 hours per week.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance is required
- A Master’s degree is preferred, but not required. CPA and other professional designations are highly desirable.
