Description

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a full-time Therapist to join our nationally recognized Drug Court Team! The Hillsborough County South Adult Drug Court is nationally recognized as a "Mentor Court" for its adherence to evidence-based practices. As part of the team, the Therapist will have the opportunity to participate in state, regional, and national trainings on innovative and cutting-edge clinical practices for work with criminally involved individuals with Substance Use Disorders. The Drug Court Therapist provides screening and assessment along with individual, group, and family therapy within the context of a multidisciplinary team-based program. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with team members representing a variety of disciplines, flexibility and a sense of humor, and a passion for evidence-based work with justice-involved individuals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Conduct eligibility screenings for referrals.
  • Complete assessments utilizing the American Society of Addition Medicine (ASAM) criteria to make clinical recommendations regarding appropriate levels of treatment.
  • Uphold Best Practice Standards for Adult Drug Courts published by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals
  • Develop treatment plan in collaboration with client.
  • Deliver group, individual, and family treatment using evidence based practices
  • Ensures all documentation is completed within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Drug Court Database within expected timeframes
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with colleagues, collateral contacts, supervisors, etc. regarding client care, both verbally and in written formats.
  • Works collaboratively, professionally, and effectively with Drug Court multidisciplinary team to coordinate client's care.
  • Prepares for and attends weekly or bi-monthly supervision, weekly department and agency meetings as well as required training and staff development activities.
  • Attends weekly Drug Court Staffing sessions and court hearings as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION :

Knowledge and experience in the treatment of substance abuse and / or co-occurring disorders; ability to develop rapport with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders : ability to apply organizational management skills and maintain self and client discipline; ability to prepare and maintain required documentation. NH Clinical licensure in a human services field (e.g. LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LADC etc.) or a Master's degree in human services from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure preferred.
