Description
As a GTA-SOC Peer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting youth in articulating and determining objectives to reach personal goals for recovery. You will work closely with clients to identify their recovery/life goals and develop specific interventions to achieve them.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a Current DMH Peer Support Specialist certification or the ability to obtain it. They will also require excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Additionally, they must demonstrate a minimum of six months in self-directed recovery and meet other qualifications outlined below.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be certified as a DMH Peer Support Specialist or have the ability to obtain certification. They must also possess excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and be able to transport clients in their private vehicle if necessary. Previous experience in a mental health setting is strongly preferred, as well as previous college education or volunteer experience.
