What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Maintenance Worker position at Community Day Care Center Of Lawrence Inc?
The Summer Maintenance Worker serves as a member of the Facilities Team at The Community Group. The ideal candidate is a skilled handy person, capable of completing general facilities upkeep tasks. This position is seasonal, starting June 2024 and ending August 2024. The scheduled hours are from 7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday, available for overtime work as needed.
The Community Group (TCG) is a private, nonprofit organization creating opportunities through education since 1970. TCG manages a range of programs, including a network of early childhood and out-of-school time programs, a network of charter and district public schools, consulting and training programs, and a child care resource and referral program, Child Care Circuit.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Responsible for maintaining a safe environment;
Must be able to lift heavy items;
Experience with painting buildings (interior and exterior);
Ability to mow lawns, and perform general landscaping upkeep;
Stripping and waxing of floors;
Any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Uphold a passionate belief in The Community Group's mission, values, and educational model;
Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including but not limited to lifting, cleaning, snow removal, lawn care, assisting with deliveries and trash removal;
Must possess a valid driver's license;
Must be reliable, organized; and
Must communicate with the Maintenance Director and with the team a big plus.
Experience working with children a plus.
