What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floating Teacher (One to Five Year Old Students) position at Community Day Center for Children, Inc.?
Job Description
Job Description
Summary
Child Care and / or Early learning isn't a field for everyone. It takes patience, energy, the desire to find joy in the small things, and the ability to pivot as children lead their own learning.
The CDCC administrative team is looking for a person who enjoys supporting children to grow and thrive. We have one position open as a team member has decided to investigate another career (with our support). Most of our staff have worked at CDCC several years, with limited turnover, which makes for a stable environment for the students and staff.
The position is for supporting children ages 12 to approximately 60 months. We participate in the Early Achievers Program. We work with staff to secure scholarships if they want to return to college or assist in finding an alternate pathway to meet Department of Children, Youth Families (DCYF) educational requirements. We worked with other early educators to move SHB1648 to give our field more time to meet mandated education requirements - we realize how hard it is to work full time AND go to college!
CDCC classrooms are thoughtfully planned, well organized and have happy and engaged children (most days, we all have our moments). We are a privately owned center, not affiliated with a church or franchise. Our biggest strengths are that the staff generally enjoy working at our center, and staff never have to worry about their hours being cut when ratios are low. We provide dental, vision, long term disability, and subsidized medical insurance. We have a friendly work environment, paid federal holiday closures for full-time employees, accrued vacation, paid time off and sick time, and bonus checks.
