Position Summary
The Controller will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to impact the strategic financial direction of CDLI. The Controller is an operational leader who exhibits a high level of professionalism and partners with leadership to evaluate business practices and ensure financial efficiencies and to ensure internal controls are in place and effective.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely, accurate, and consolidated financial reporting, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead the budgeting process, including the gathering of necessary data, development of supporting models, collaborating with the programs to develop assumptions, and consolidating and communicating results.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that organizational risks are minimized.
• Ensure timely updating of accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to monitor departmental and programmatic performance against budget.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team to support informed decision-making.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for audits both internal and external.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tax preparation and reporting.
• Coordinate the preparation of finance based regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5 years proven experience as a Controller or similar role.
- Proficient in accounting software (Financial Edge a plus).
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
