Position Summary

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, support new initiatives, and excel in written and verbal communication with a keen eye for detail. They should be adept at working in virtual spaces, using various online tools, and be committed to CDLI's mission. Specifically, the Loan Officer will assist individuals and businesses in obtaining funding by evaluating loan applications, analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and managing projects to ensure timely processing.

Responsibilities:

-    Evaluate and analyze loan applications to assess creditworthiness, financial stability, and risk, including reviewing credit reports and financial documents to make informed recommendations for approval or denial.

-    Prequalify and manage referrals from the HomeOwnership Center, including Section-8 Voucher recipients, to match them with suitable lending products.

-    Source, secure, underwrite, and close residential and small business loans and grants under CDLI’s lending programs, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and regulatory standards.

-    Maintain comprehensive knowledge of loan programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for effective credit and portfolio management.

-    Conduct orientations and counseling for program participants, assessing their needs and providing guidance on available options.

-    Monitor and manage the loan portfolio, including reviewing payments, addressing late payments, and coordinating with clients and other departments to resolve issues.

-    Provide exceptional customer service, assist with mortgage applications and modifications, and offer administrative support by maintaining records, managing data, scheduling appointments, and generating reports.

Requirements: 

-    NeighborWorks® America certifications within 1 year of employment

-    Flexible work hours, including select evenings and weekends

-    Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

-    Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of working well with others

-    Proactive, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

-    Mortgage license to perform the function of a Mortgage Loan Officer (Preferred)

-    Bi-lingual Spanish (preferred)
