Responsibilities of a Mind Cultivator in "Restoring the Peace" Program

As a Change Advisor in the "Restoring the Peace" program, you will be responsible for implementing restorative justice practices to promote peaceful conflict resolution between students at schools. The goal is to move away from zero-tolerance policies towards gentle but firm approaches that focus on the root causes of behavioral issues unless it's a tier 3 situation. Specifically, you will be coordinating the mediation of conflicts between students by initiating conversations that build trust and respect. By doing so, you will help prevent minor issues from escalating into bigger problems, ultimately creating a more respectful and peaceful school environment.

Your role will also involve overseeing and supporting a team of at least three members. You will lead by example and provide resources to ensure that everyone performs their duties efficiently. Additionally, you will supervise daily operations such as workshops and events, ensuring timely completion of documentation. Creating a positive environment that fosters growth and development is an essential aspect of your work. You must ensure that all information is kept confidential, and the proper flings are accounted for promptly for everyone involved. With your previous management experience, training and expertise in teaching youth, you will impart leadership skills to future generations.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Document and assess student behavior and actions in ways that are consistent
  • Resolve conflict between students
  • Report any poor student behaviors to other members of the team through effective communication
  • Develop written plans for how to deal with certain situations
  • Using techniques for behavior modification such as positive reinforcement, modeling and reinforcement schedules to reduce poor behaviors
  • Assess students’ growth for the duration of the program
  • Ability to meet with parents/guardians to discuss students behavior, strategies for modification and progress

Requirements

  • Pass Background check
  • Pass Drug screening
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in education or 5 years working with youth K-12
  • 2 years Restorative Practice experience
  • MC ONLY must have obtained Master's Degree (preferred) / Doctoral Degree (preferred) or equivalent
  • 1 Year using ABA/ worked with students that have IEPs
  • Background of working with students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
