Substance Abuse Treatment Counselor

Duties:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for individuals struggling with addiction
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to assist clients in overcoming addiction
- Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive change and healthy coping mechanisms
- Collect and maintain accurate client records, including data collection· Provide direct intervention, assessment, and counseling services to individuals, groups, and families

- Provide consultation, education, and training when requested and as needed

- Responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, conducting individual and group therapies, developing recovery plans, and providing education for individuals on an outpatient basis.

- Connect clients to other services if determined that the appropriate treatment level is not provided by CDCLC.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of addiction counseling principles, techniques, and best practices
- Proficient in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and evaluating client progress
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all aspects of the job
- Strong organizational skills to manage client records, data collection, and coding accurately

Requirements:

• Must be certified in the State of New Mexico as a LADAC or higher certification at the time of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
