Job Description:
- Assists in maintaining the TDFPS Minimum Standard and CCMS standards with director’s guidance.
- Show an understanding of developmental levels of infants and children.
- Participates in training as determined by TDFPS Minimum Standards and CCMS standards.
- Attends and participates in center staff meetings.
- Uses positive guidance techniques that help children become increasingly responsible for their own behavior.
- Anticipates problems and plans to prevent their occurrence.
- Helps keep facility neat and orderly.
- Foresees and eliminates dangerous situations by constant supervision and appropriate instructions to the children.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven ability to communicate, work effectively and cooperatively with children, parents and staff.
- Hold current certificates for standard First Aid and Adult, Child, and infant CPR or able to obtain upon selection.
- Able to participate in at least 20 hours per year of required training.
- These training may be held during evening and weekend hours.
- Must be flexible in work hours and be reliable and punctual with excellent attendance.
Experience:
Prefer minimum of 1 year experience working with infants/children in licensed center setting.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move childern or classroom items
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
