Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing essential support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires proficiency taking vital signs, rooming patients, entering patient information into the EHR system, doing referrals to specialists, cleaning patient rooms between patients, stocking exam rooms, assisting providers with procedures and other tasks as needed. Must be familiar with medical terminology and have good communications skills. Formal MOA training preferred, but CNA training and willingness to learn is acceptable.
Duties
- Manage patient records and maintain organized filing systems to ensure easy access to information.
- coordinate patient flow within the office.
- Assist with the intake process, including collecting patient information and verifying insurance details.
- Utilize EHR and scheduling platforms
- Support administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, faxes and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in office management systems and software
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks.
