What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Originator position at Community First Credit Union?
As Mortgage Loan Originator, you will build and manage a strong pipeline of conventional mortgage loans, anticipate underwriter requests, and guide members through one of their biggest lifetime purchases. As Mortgage Loan Originator with Community First Credit Union, you will:
- Thoroughly interview loan applicants, gain an understanding of the member's profile, be proactive in identifying member needs not only related to mortgage lending, but to other products and services offered by the credit union
- Request information for loan applications; record information, complete supporting documents for the mortgage lending process, collect necessary fees, and review application for completeness
- Analyze applicant financial status, credit history, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loans
- Communicate with and assist processors, underwriters, and closers, to build a strong origination team
- Interact with branch locations to develop internal and external member relationships, as well as increase cross-selling opportunities
- Participate in and facilitate sales, credit union, and mortgage team meetings as requested
We are looking for a combination of:
- Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, business, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience
- Three or more years of consumer and/or mortgage lending experience
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending, secondary market products, underwriting guidelines, and loan processing
- Familiarity with Microsoft office suite and web-based software packages
- The ability of work hard, find solutions, and maximize relationships with area builders and realtors
