The Guardian, will be the Legal Court-appointed Guardian and advocate for clients who have been deemed incompetent by the local probate courts. Legal court responsibilities include the fiduciary acceptance (a legal entity that has the responsibility and power to act on behalf of another person in making decisions in the best interest and providing suitable maintenance when necessary).
This is a community based position that requires you to work primarily in the field, with regular travel to conduct home and facility visits and attending court hearings for clients in the Butler/ Warren County area. You will assist in making decisions and following through on decisions made for clients such as living arrangements, medical decisions, quality of life improvements, etc. You will work closely with the team as they use their skillsets to work with an often-difficult population who are incompetent in making independent decisions while respecting their choices as much as possible. In this position you will need to use your experience to seek to understand all the options before making decisions regarding the client’s medical consents, living arrangements, coordination of benefits. You will also be required to regularly come into the office.
Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday- Friday
- Telephonic On-Call Rotation with team 24/7 to provide consent to treat for medical needs of clients
Pay:
- Starting at $18/hour, based on experience
Training:
- Conducted 100% Onsite
- Guardianship certification must be obtained within 18 months of eligibility (we will help you!)

- You have a minimum Associate degree or acceptable certification such as certified case manager, LPN, or Licensed mental health counselor.
- You have a genuine passion and heart for serving others.
- You have social service experience working with individuals with mental health issues and/or developmental disabilities.
- You have are comfortable working with a variety of systems such as the courts, mental health, DD, medical, aging, protective services, and long-term care.
- You have the ability to build and foster external relationships.
