Description
Function: The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the daily warehouse and distribution activities, including produce and order assembly, inventory, deliveries, and record keeping for the Community Food Bank (CFB). This position assists with overseeing a team of operations staff and has oversight of warehouse equipment usage, safety, maintenance, and training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Warehouse Manager with all warehouse receiving, restocking, order picking, and shipping functions.
- Assists with the maintenance and repair of all warehouse material handling equipment and ensuring that warehouse equipment is maintained by OSHA standards.
- Ensures that proper warehouse procedures and best practice standards for handling and storing all food products are followed per requirements of CFB and other regulatory entities.
- Completes daily tasks in compliance with AIB Food Safety and Handling Manual.
- Ensures there are sufficient quantities of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where necessary and ensures that volunteers and staff are wearing proper PPE to protect themselves and our clients.
- Stages food production line in preparation for boxing: i.e., making sure product is pulled based on FIFO.
- Keeps the production line stocked and works with Warehouse staff to pull items from the warehouse.
- Performs monthly inventory in partnership with the Warehouse Manager.
- Oversees accurate data entry of inventory to ensure uniformity and quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of daily warehouse and distribution activities.
- Skills in FIFO or FEFO compliance with warehousing and food storage procedures.
- Ability to learn other software platforms (i.e. Link2Feed, Ceres, etc.).
- Ability to become forklift and other warehouse power equipment certified within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to attain ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.
- Lifelong learner and commitment to ongoing education and professional grow.

- Sound judgment and ability to use data to make decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in a warehouse or logistics-based setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Warehouse Management, Logistics or a related field.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) – Two (2) years of staff management and supervision.
- Experience working or volunteering at a nonprofit and/or food bank.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work – ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
