Duties And Responsibilities
- Drives a Commercial Tractor responsible for collection and distribution of donated and USDA goods throughout Southern Arizona.
- Maintains records of all donated foods, including the issuing of donor receipts, and works in compliance with all CFB and Feeding America guidelines and best practices.
- Completes and submits vehicle mileage logs, vehicle inspection reports, trailer inspection reports, donation bill of ladings, and other necessary paperwork.
- Operates CFB tractor in accordance with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and CFB standards, including maintaining the interior and exterior cleanliness of the truck.
- Adheres to vehicle maintenance schedule and reports all needed repairs to Supervisor. Agrees to not operate vehicle, if vehicle does not meet DOT safety standards.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area complying with all local health codes, AIB, and Feeding America standards applicable to food acquisition, storage, and distribution.
- Provides donation pick-up information to the supervisor for all donation pick-ups, including product type, product quantities, donor information, and receipt number.
- Upholds food safety procedures and supports product traceability and recalls as needed, including ensuring that all food items are transported at the correct temperatures to ensure food safety and quality of all transported items.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of how to operate a commercial tractor or similar vehicle per DOT regulations.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules per DOT safety standards.
- Ability to maintain records, i.e. mileage logs, inspection reports, etc.
- Knowledge of local health codes, safety procedures and product traceability.
- Ability to obtain food handling certification within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to become forklift and other warehouse power equipment certified within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency in email and other technological communication and/or record keeping systems.
- Current and valid Arizona CDL “Class A” Driver License.
- Three (3) year clean driving record and current DOT Medical Certification.
- For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current and valid Arizona Driver’s License and a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Heavy Work - which involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, we determine that he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
