What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Community Guidance Center?
- Maintain general ledger for all programs which involves determining appropriate journal entries, monitoring accounts, reconciling accounts while ensuring that all financial information is accurate, complete, and are fairly presented in accordance with the accounting practices prescribed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare Title 4300 MH/MR Program Fiscal Manual.
- Ensure that books are closed by target dates established by the Controller, including the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Responsible for reconciling accounts on a monthly basis by target date established by the Controller.
- Responsible for maintaining the Center’s computer software: general ledger and billing system. This is done using Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains & Credible software.
- Adding or changing accounts to the G/L chart-of- accounts
- Changing rates for services for various insurance companies per fee schedules.
- Implementation of new programs or facilities in the general ledger and billing system
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audit.
- Assist with annual budgets for all programs.
- Assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with any special projects or account analyses.
