What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Time Specialist- Quality Parenting Center position at Community Guidance Clinic for Central CT?
Job Summary:
- Provides agency based services including parent education, case management and advocacy to DCF families with children in foster or relative care.
- Facilitate supervised visits between biological parents and their children at the Quality Parenting Center.
- Transport children to all scheduled visits at the Quality Parenting Center.
- Implement visitation plans in collaboration with relevant parties (e.g., DCF).
- Provide coaching support to parents during scheduled visits with their children.
- Works flexible hours including evenings, weekends and rotating holidays.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with all program staff and all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure coordinated efforts for optimal outcomes for the family.
- Complete required training and professional development.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and required workshops/conferences.
- Ensure scheduled visits are completed as planned.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Represent the program and agency in the community as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the human service field preferred, or an Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with experience providing direct services to families is required.
- Both formal education and life experience will be considered. Ability to work collaboratively on a team, provide culturally competent treatment and work a variable work schedule to include evenings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Possess a valid CT driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Program Hours: Monday through Friday 11:30-8, Saturday-Sunday 9-5, holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
