Job Summary: The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered mental health care to adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting. This role includes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of serious mental illness (SMI) and substance use disorders through therapeutic interventions, medication management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. The APRN will have a specialized focus on medically assisted treatments (MAT) for substance use and is expected to be knowledgeable in the use of long-acting injectables and antipsychotic medications. This position requires a commitment to compassionate care and adherence to the highest standards of psychiatric practice and legal compliance. Licensing or the ability to be licensed in the State of Nevada is required.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- In-depth understanding of psychiatric disorders, particularly serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and treatment methodologies including MAT.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, including indications, contraindications, side effects, and administration techniques, particularly for antipsychotics and long-acting injectables.
- Familiarity with Nevada state licensing requirements and compliance standards for psychiatric care.
- Advanced clinical skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for adolescents and adults.
- Proficiency in administering MAT and utilizing long-acting injectables safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and team guidance.
- Ability to establish rapport with patients, particularly adolescents and those with complex mental health and substance use needs.
- Competence in handling high-stress situations with empathy and professionalism, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
- Capacity to stay current with evidence-based practices in psychiatry, particularly in substance use and SMI treatment.
Education

- Completion of an accredited nursing program with specialization in psychiatric and mental health care.
- Certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent certification.
Salary : $93,575 - $145,042
