The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides vision and leadership to the development, implementation and maintenance of the overall information systems and technology architecture of Community Health Alliance (CHA). As a member of the senior management team, the CIO leads the planning, implementation, and maintenance of information systems in support of CHA’s mission to deliver high quality health services throughout the community. This scope includes both distributed and centralized clinical and business operations that function reliably and cost effectively.
Job Summary: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the planning, development, implementation, and management of the organization’s information technology (IT) systems. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, and align technology initiatives with business objectives to support patient care, clinical operations, and administrative functions. This role includes serving as the HIPAA Security Officer, ensuring compliance and the protection of sensitive health information.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of healthcare operations, including regulatory requirements (HIPAA, OSHA) and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs).
- Expertise in enterprise architecture, information security, and healthcare information systems (e.g., EMR, EPM, and ERP systems).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable technology initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams through organizational transformation.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities, with a track record of delivering cost-effective technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives concurrently.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare IT, including experience as a CIO or senior IT executive.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare information systems, including implementation, management, and optimization.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving enterprise-wide digital transformation.
- Current certifications in networking systems, applicable software, and hardware technology preferred.
- Experience in managing large-scale technology projects, including system migrations, integrations, and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations and their impact on information technology.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to travel as needed to support multi-site operations and engage with external partners.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Flexibility to respond to critical system issues outside of regular business hours.
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
