Job Summary: The Licensed Therapist will provide mental health and/or marriage & family counseling to patients of Community Health Alliance (CHA) and their families. The behavioral health provider will collaborate with the mental health staff, referral source, and multi-disciplinary staff at Community Health Alliance (CHA) to assess, diagnose and form a treatment plan for the patient.Spanish speaking required.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family counseling, clinical psychology, or closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hold a current license under the Social Work Board or the Marriage and Family Therapist Board to practice in the State of Nevada or eligibility for licensure in Nevada. Must demonstrate experience working with culturally diverse populations. Spanish speaking preferred.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of community mental health resources and their requirements
- Knowledge of psycho-social disorders and their effects on children and families
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they relate to the care and treatment of the mentally ill.
- Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a mental health provider.
- Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to treat mental health issues
- Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to track on-going treatment of mental health patients.
- Knowledge of methods, principals and techniques of social case work, psychotherapeutic interventions, and practice with individuals, groups and families.
- Skill in operating personal computers utilizing word processing, databases, statistical and graphic presentations, and various general office equipment.
- Skill in communicating and dealing with diverse groups of people individually and in group settings.
- Skill in investigating case situations and ability to present this information to the medical staff in clear and concise manner.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing, especially in crisis situations.
- Ability to perform psycho-social assessments including; relevant family and social history that may pertain to diagnosis and treatment.
- Ability to work with families to improve communications reduces socially un-acceptable behavior, teach coping skills, and stress management.
- Ability to write and carry out moderate to extensive treatment plans as required per case.
- Ability to interpret patient’s treatment to patient’s family and help to reduce any obstruction or attitudes that may interfere with psychiatric care and treatment.
